How to determine the cutting length of a sand measuring bucket

Construction Software

This is another useful video from Learning Technology. In this video, you will learn the new concept for finding out the cutting length of bucket that is used to measure sand.

To start the calculation, mix proportion of M25 grade of concrete is taken i.e. 1:1:2 (cement : sand : aggregates).

If cement is taken as 1 bag, the sand should be similar to the volume of 1 bag cement.

To find the volume of 1 bag cement, the following formula is used :-

Density of cement in loose condition = 1440 Kg/m3 Volume of 1 cement bag = Mass/Density = 50/1440 = 0.0347 cum To convert it to cubic feet = 0.0347 x 35.3147 = 1.225 cft.

To find out the cutting length of bucket, the following formula is used with the following dimensions :-

1 feet x 1 feet x 1.225 ft, here, length and breadth are taken as 1 feet and height is taken as 1.225 feet. The result will be produced as 1.225 ft i.e. 1 feet 2.75 inch

Another formula is :-

L x B x H = 0.0347, here the value of height is unknown

So, 0.3 x 0.3 x H = 0.0347
So, H = 0.0347/0.3 x 0.3 = 0.386 m

Putting the value we get, 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.386 = 0.0347 cum
