# How to work out the volume of retaining wall with supporting wall

In this construction video tutorial, you will learn the process for calculating the volume of concrete in a retaining wall with partition wall. This type of retaining wall is generally found in damp.

The dimension of the retaining wall is given below :-

The length of the base slab of the footing is 10 meter
The width of the base slab of the footing is 1.5 meter
The depth of the base slab of the footing is 200 mm

The height of the stem is 3 m
The length of the stem is 10 m

The dimension of the upper part of the stem is 200 mm
The dimension of the lower part of the stem is 300 mm

The objective of the wall that is provided over stem is to defend the lateral force from outside.

The dimension of the wall is given below :-

The height of the wall is taken as 3 meter
The dimension of the upper part of the wall is 0.4 m
The dimension of the bottom of the wall is 1 m

The base of the footing is considered as A
The stem is considered as B
The supporting wall is considered as C

To find out the volume of retaining wall, the following formula will be applied :-
Volume of A + Volume of B + Volume of C
