How to calculate the capacity of a water tank

This construction document briefly explains the method for figuring out the volume of a water tank to preserve water.

For this purpose, the following points should be taken into consideration :-

The water consumption capacity by each person – 135 litres/per day (NBC 2005)

No of persons for each flat who consume the water – 4 numbers
Total numbers of flats – 12

Preservation of water for numbers of days – 7 days

To find out the total capacity of water tank, multiply all the above figures – 135 x 4 x 12 x 7 = 45,360 litres
