The construction estimating sheet is vital for a construction estimator.

The cost estimators keep all the details in these spreadsheets and often take help out of it. It is in a way, main weapon to the estimators.

They used columnar sheets of paper to organize the take off and the estimate itself into rows of items and columns containing the description, quantity and the pricing components. Some of these were similar to accounting ledger paper.

They became known as green sheets or spreadsheets. With the progress of computer in business, estimators began using spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel to duplicate the traditional tabular format, while automating redundant mathematical formulas.

This spreadsheet generally includes the data such as Basis of estimate, project cost summery, Bid items, total labour, equipment cost any many more things.
