In this exclusive civil engineering article, you will learn how to make estimate of an O shape or Circular wall. The estimation is done for the concreting work, brickwork, excavation work in ground etc.
The calculation process involves the following steps :-
Calculation
Internal diameter of circular wall is taken as = 3 meter
Diameter among center line of wall = 3 + 0.30 = 3.30 meter
Length is taken as = πD = π x 3.30 = 10.36 meter
Given below, an exclusive table to simplify the calculation process :
Excavation work in ordinary soil = L x B x H = 10.36 x 0.70 x 0.50 = 3.63 m3
Concrete work in foundation in the ratio 1:4:8 = L x B x H = 10.36 x 0.70 x 0.30 = 2.17 m3
Brick work in foundation & plinth
1st step = L x B x H = 10.36 x 0.50 x 0.20 = 1.04 m3
2nd step = L x B x H = 10.36 x 0.40 x 0.60 = 2.49 m3
Total = 1.04 + 2.49 = 3.53 m3
D.P.C or Damp Proof Course with thickness 2.5 cm in the ratio 1:2:4 = L x B = 10.36 x 0.30 = 3.19 m2

Brick work in super structure = L x B x H = 10.36 x 0.30 x 3.00 = 9.32 m3
Cement Plaster is provided in the ratio (1:4)
Up to plinth level (2 numbers) = L x H = 10.36 x 0.60 = 12.43 m2
Over plinth level (2 numbers) = L x H = 10.36 x 3.00 = 62.16 m2
Total = 12.43 + 62.16 = 74.59 m2
White wash is same as cement plaster
The above process is suitable for the construction of well & tubewell.
