This construction video is captured to show you how to estimate quantity for cement, sand and aggregate in a concrete column.
Here, the dimension given for front section of column is 300 mm x 300 mm
The height for gross section of the plan is 3 Meter.
Here, M20 grade concrete ratio is 1:1.5:3 and if you sum up, ratio will be 5.5
Therefore, volume of column that is represented as V = 0.27m3 (meter cube). We get this volume from the specified 3 dimensions.
Now, it is required to convert wet volume into dry volume. Apply the following formula to do this :-
Wet Volume x 1.54 = 0.27 x 1.54 = 0.4158 m3
Therefore, Volume of cement = 1/5.5 x 0.4158 = 0.0756 m3
In order to convert the cement volume to bags, apply the following formula :-
0.0756/0.0347 = 2.17 bags of cement
Volume of sand = 1.5/5.5 x 0.4158 = 0.1134 m3
