How to find out the quantity of asphalt in a road

This construction video tutorial provides detailed information on how to work out the quantity of asphalt in road construction.

The dimension for the road diagram is given as follow :-

Breadth of the asphalt of the road = 8 meter
Depth of the asphalt of the road = 15 cm or 0.15 m
Length of the road = 2 km = 2000 m

In order to find out the volume of asphalt, the following formula will be used :-

Length x breadth x Depth = 2000 x 8 x 0.15 = 2400 m3
Here, density of asphalt is given as 2330 Kg/m3

To find out the quantity of asphalt, the following formula will be used :-

Volume of road section x Density of asphalt = 2440 x 2330 = 5592000 Kg
To convert it into Tons, just divide it with 1000 i.e. 5592000/1000 = 5592 tons
